How it started

the first video we ever shot - “Pass like a pro”

during the 2020 lockdown in the UK, Myself (Luke) & My brother (Dai) had a lot of time on our hands. we filled the time with training and watching lots of youtube. We noticed there was a scarcity of rugby training & coaching videos on the platform. we also knew that so many players were stuck at home not able to attend their normal training during the week.

we wanted to help them keep training no matter where in the world or what circumstances they were in. so we decided to start filming training videos and uploading them to youtube

we received so many awesome messages from people about the videos, so we continued to make them throughout the lockdown.

Once lockdown ended, I returned to playing 7s full time and Dai had to go back to work.

Since then I’ve continued to grow the platform on my own.

We love what rugby has provided for us and we want to help create these same opportunities for others

over a decade of professional

7s experience

I’ve been fortunate to play 7s professionally for over 10 years for Wales and Great Britain. It took a lot of effort to break into the international scene and keep my spot there. There’s been lots of failure and plenty of success. Throughout the journey, I have documented all my learnings and I have a real passion to share this with the next generation.

I know what it takes to make it in rugby but also the benefit of having a life away from the game. I studied medicine alongside my international career which helped me not just be an athlete but a rounded person. When helping the next generation I truly believe that a well-rounded person makes a far better and happier athlete.

This is 7s has been my passion project since its inception. When my international 7s career came to an end in 2022 I had the opportunity to move to Hong Kong and pursue it as a full-time job. Alongside working on This is 7s various platforms I coach the men’s and women’s hong kong academy. I am absolutely loving life in hong kong and pushing this is 7s forwARD TO HELP AS MANY PEOPLE AS POSSIBLE.
